Stoop Stories is a participatory documentary project that provides a powerful platform for New Yorkers to be seen and heard. Our mission is to connect, support, and celebrate the diverse communities of the five boroughs.
Launched during the 2020 lockdown, Stoop Stories has curated over 200 features from New York families, essential workers, small business owners, and activists. Their stories are told straight from the stoops of NYC. Through visual and written storytelling, we elevate the authentic voices of our neighbors, especially those hardest hit by the pandemic and systemic inequity.
Stoop Stories has been featured by The New York Times, Time Out New York, PIX11 News and News 12, and our work has appeared in several exhibits, including #ICPConcerned: Global Images for a Global Crisis at the International Center for Photography, Papergirl-Brooklyn, and Arts Gowanus ArtWalk on Atlantic Ave.
